This course focuses on reading and enjoying books in more depths than casual reading. Students will be exposed to genres that may not be as familiar to them, along with grade appropriate vocabulary and literary elements. The class will also discuss and analyze themes and characterization of each book. By reading entire books, students will be able to immerse themselves more fully and gain a better understanding of the books. Research projects and literary analysis essays will be assigned to broaden students’ critical thinking.
