“...My target score was 1500+, but I was doubtful that I would be able to achieve this high mark given that my diagnostic test yielded a composite score of 1160 with a 490 in the math section. I had never been particularly strong in mathematics, so I was afraid that I may not have the skills necessary to reach the goals I was shooting for. However, I believe that the biggest factor that allowed me to improve was taking practice tests every Friday and the review of the tests every Monday... Through careful corrections and deliberate analysis of my mistakes, I began to see patterns in the tests, allowing me to work faster and more efficiently. Also, by taking weekly tests, I became more comfortable with time management to the point where I could finish each section with minutes to spare. Everyone who helped me from Ms. Kim, to Mrs. Cho, to Dr. Han were always kind and willing to answer any questions I had. Ultimately I did achieve my goal and scored a 1510 on the August 2019 SAT.
